Miscellany Monday

Once again it's time for Miscellany Monday, always my favorite post of the week, because well..... I'm a pretty random gal! Link up with Carissa too!

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters

1. I had one amazing weekend with my husband. Madison stayed with my mom and step dad and rode on the boat at the lake all day. The girl loves riding on the boat, but she always falls asleep, haha.
2. Eric and I were planning on going to a downtown festival but when I got out of the shower he asked if I wanted to go to Wilmington {the beach} so of course I said okay. We went and toured the North Carolina battleship, it was amazing in so many ways. We stayed their for almost 3 hours. I learned so much and have even more respect for all of our service men and women. I recommend going if you  are ever able, I would not bring any children under 4 because there is so much steep climbing and so many tight and dangerous spaces.
                                            {like a kid in a candy store}

After that we rode around downtown and then went on the search for a seafood restaurant but after riding and riding we ended up eating at On the Border, we can always eat Mexican! yummy!
3. We ended up finding an inexpensive hotel and staying the night after picking up the best coffee we have ever had. It was so relaxing and we slept until 8:30!
4. I have got to organize things around my house. I keep halfway organizing stuff, but in the end I throw junk mail and other randoms in drawers and after about a month of chucking I cant find anything. I really need to setup a good system for mail and papers!
5. Potty training started today for reals!! Madi keeps sleeping through naps and even through the night without wetting her diaper, so it is time. This morning she woke up with a dry diaper and after 15 minutes of sitting on the potty reading books, singing, and playing with rocks from a candle scape in the bathroom she went and almost overflowed her little potty. Well 5 minutes later she comes running out of my room peeing the whole way across the house trying to make it to her potty. I would have never guessed she would have to go more!  So I happily cleaned up a trail of pee! I am so proud of my little Madi bean!
Have a great Monday Everyone!

Easter Weekend

We had such a great Easter this year, I know that I will never forget this past weekend! We went to my mom and her boyfriend Will's (they have been together for around 7 years) house on Lake Gaston. My brother and his sweet and spunky girlfriend Taylor came as well. I do not know the last time we all stayed together and just hung out around the house and talked. We went for boat rides and made cupcakes and danced to reggae music (oh yeah) and of course we watched Duke play on Saturday night!
My husband is sooo happy they won the championship! He has even got Madison saying "Go Duke"  and I have to admit its pretty darn cute.
Sorry I get off topic very easily, now where was I...
Madison had so much fun, she had a smile on her face the whole time. Living in an apartment their isn't really anywhere for her to run and play outside, I take her to the park of course, but at the lakehouse my little lady can run and run and run as much as she wants and boy did she.
The only problem we had with her was she did not want to take her naps. The only time she took a nap was on a boat ride Sunday morning in her daddys arms, and then she fell asleep in the hammock swing with my grandma.
Madi asleep on the boat

My grandparents and Will's mom came on Sunday to eat lunch and have our second annual easter egg hunt. Madi had a lot of fun finding her eggs, she even  found the silver egg with ten dollars in it, everyone else including myself were looking everywhere for it, haha go figure.

Here are a bunch of pictures from our weekend.

Madi in her tutu bathing suit that the Easter bunny brought her.I put the bathing suit on her to try to distract her from Eric taking all of her chocolate out, that is all she wanted to do was eat chocolate but who can blame her!

I love him

All of us on Easter Sunday, I should have set the tripod up closer to everyone because I had to hurry to get in the picture before the time was up.
This is my grandpa "papa" and Eric being silly during the easter egg hunt.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!

Well it snowed........

We did get a lot of snow!
Originally it was suppose to be 8-10 inches  but we ended up getting about 6 inches, which was more than enough for me.
Six inches of snow for Raleigh is a whole-lotta snow, the schools were closed again today, yes i know to a lot you you reading this that is INSANE, I was really suprised that they were out again today to be honest but they are saying that a lot of the neighborhoods still have ice on the roads and so they dont want to take any chances! You see, there was ALOT of sleet that combined and compacted with the snow and made huge thick sheets of ice everywhere, I sound like a meteorologist , NOT!

It started snowing on Friday night around 8 and we were at our friends house! Check out this picture of Tim he looks like he was on fire, it was an out of control  firepit on their patio!

This is just a random picture of it snowing from the car window

Before we went home we stopped at Walmart to pick up ground beef (for chili), a sled, an icescraper thingie, and a big bag of M&M's to bribe Madi with (best trick in the book j/k) well my wonderful husband went in while I sat in the car with my precious sleeping baby girl...

more random photos from inside the car in the walmart parking lot as a I waited for my sweet hubby...

Back to why we were at walmart in the first place.... when Eric got in the car he told me that they were sold completely out of ground beef, can you believe it! Plus they didn't have any type of sled or an ice scaper! What a bust, oh well!
So when we got home this is what Eric and I did while Madi was sleeping

I love Barefoot wine, great price and great taste!

So this is what it looked like when we woke up on Saturday...

See the cute cold little bird!

Ok, so I didn't take as many pictures as I would have liked because I had just finished reading about how bad it is for my camera to go from a "controlled" temperature to the twenty five degrees it was outside,  and so I was paranoid!
As a usually am about something, thats just me, ha
But we had a super duper day playing out in the snow, Madison loved every second. We took her sleding down a pretty good sized hill  and she said "Weeeeeeeee" the whole way down and every time one of us went down too!
The first time I took her down with me she gave me a kiss when we got to the bottom and said "Cool mama" I know that I will remember  that moment forever, it makes my heart melt just thinking about it! God, I love her!
Enough getting all emotional on you here are a few more pics
